PAM IN OTTAWA ART

Hi, I'm Pamela Stewart a.k.a. ‘Pam in Ottawa’, a mixed media abstract painter from Ottawa (Kanata), Ontario. I am a mom of twins, a former indie filmmaker and magazine editor, and a long distance open water swimmer.
I am also an abstract expressionist artist who uses a diverse range of modern materials such as resin, alcohol ink, synthetic paper, textured acrylics, recycled objects and more in combination with more traditional art materials to create heavily textured organic-inspired abstracts.

Artist Statement
I am increasingly preoccupied with the state of our earth, and humanity's effect on it. I crave open water, sand underfoot, a canopy of leaves breathing above me. When I enter my home studio, I intuitively reach for materials that call to mind the texture of our earth and the flow of water.
The body of work that has resulted from this conscious catharsis is both a balm for the soul and a call for others to escape and BREATHE - and find our reserves. My work is always an authentic expression of how she experiences the world around her – bathed in an immersion of the senses.
"My soul - and my work - seeks the cleansing and grounding effects of water; always. While all of my work will have an organic flow and use liquid materials for these effects, several of my recent works also explore subversive themes related to gender, diversity, inclusion and belonging."
A mom of teenage twins, a former indie filmmaker and magazine editor, and former owner of Carleton Place Gallery, when not in the studio or teaching a workshop, I am likely either ice swimming or going for a long-distance open water swim. It just depends on what season it is!

ART COMMISSIONS
I have a no risk process for art commissions - First we will sit down together (in person in the Ottawa region, ZOOM or telephone call within Canada / US) and discuss what your needs are. I can work with your interior designer also to create a beautiful abstract art painting or series of paintings that will compliment your interior space & design.
Once we both feel satisfied that we know what you’d like for your space, I will provide a quote and discuss a timeline for delivery. My art commission prices for all original paintings are affordable as there is no difference in price from artwork already listed in my artist gallery. When we are both ready to get going on the commission, I will require a 50% down payment on the quoted price, HOWEVER you are under no obligation to purchase the abstract painting if you are not 100% completely satisfied when I deliver the completed work.
When your original painting is completed, I'll deliver the pieces along with an invoice for the remaining balance OR if out of town, send photos/video to ensure you love the finished works then arrange for shipping once payment has been received. Payment can be through cash, debit, credit, or EMT etc.
If you aren’t completely thrilled with your original one of a kind modern abstract work, no worries...you are NOT obligated to buy. I will either take notes & try again OR refund the original 50% deposit, and will sell the work instead at an art show or through one of the Art Galleries with which I am affiliated. To date, I haven’t had this happen.
